ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Southeastern Academy Charter School enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is now closed. The lottery was held at 4pm on Apr. 17th in the SeA Gym.

 

Our school uses Lotterease to complete and submit enrollment applications.  Please see the info and parent manual below for more information about Lotterease. Any families who were on the waitlist for the 2019-2020 school year, must re-enter the lottery process for the 2020-2021 school year by filling out the application through Lotterease.

Once you have completed the enrollment preference selection, you are done with Lotterease and may close the site.  You can always select, "view account history," to confirm your information has been saved. 

Each applicant that has completed the application on Lotterease will have their name entered into a computerized random drawing through the Lotterease system. Upon filling all available positions, the acceptance by lottery will continue, thereby, creating a school waiting list. A drawing for children of personnel of Southeastern Academy will be done separately and first; followed by a drawing for siblings of students enrolled in a previous year. The general wait list for each grade level will then be randomly drawn at a time, starting with the lowest grade level in the school. The lottery process will then proceed for each grade. As openings become available at the applicable grade level, students will be admitted based on their current lottery number. If multiple birth siblings apply for admission to a charter school and a lottery is needed under G.S. 11 5C-238G(g)(6), the charter school shall enter one surname into the lottery to represent all of the multiple birth siblings. If that surname of the multiple birth siblings is selected, then all of the multiple birth siblings shall be admitted.  If applicants who are selected for admission decide not to enroll at Southeastern Academy, the parents of the next child on the wait list for that grade will be notified via email.

If your child is accepted in the lottery held April 17th, or at any point after that, you must confirm that spot via Lotterease within 10 days.  An email link will be sent to you to confirm.   We will move students off the waitlist and onto the accepted list as space becomes available.  

What is Lotterease?

Lotterease is an independent automated lottery system that the school uses to manage their lottery and wait list.  Since Lotterease is an independent system, the school staff do not have the ability to manipulate or adjust the lottery outcome.  They must work within the requirements of the system. In addition, all activity that takes place with your application is tracked in a history log that you can view at any time by logging into the parent portal.

If the school you want your child to attend displays the Lotterease Seal of Transparency and Fairness, you can rest assured that your child will get their fair chance to attend the school.
